A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS hosted by Pastor Marion Duncan

M.Ed. (Counselling), C.C.C., M.Div., Dr.Min.

We thank God for those pastors and churches who HAVE taken it on themselves to become knowledgeable when it comes to ministering to abused and oppressed people.  But sadly, there are still too many pastors who are sent out from the seminaries theologically unprepared for the inevitable situations of abuse that WILL land on their church doorstep.  Compassionate Cup Ministries: a Voice for the Voiceless maintains that such training should be included in the core seminary program and remedially to pastors already in the field in order to reduce the secondary victimization that is still occurring in too many church communities as a result of pastors being inadequately prepared.

Did you go to your church for help and didn’t feel heard?

Did you get a sense that the church held you responsible for the abuse directed against you?

Was your abuser seen as more credible than you?                                                                             KNOW that you are not to blame.

KNOW that such an intervention by your pastor is not of God.

KNOW that you are loved as a child of God and that it is not HIS will that you take the blame or stay in an unsafe situation.

KNOW that God holds your abuser accountable even if your church or your pastor does not.

KNOW that there ARE pastors and Christians out there who truly understand what you are going through.

KNOW that to God you are his precious child and your well-being and safety is everything to him.

Spiritual Healing “to bind up the broken hearted.” Isaiah 61:

Education (Proverbs 4:6(b)) (Wisdom) Esteem her and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honour you.                                                                                                                 “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me.” John 7:37

I am responding to God’s calling to hold out a compassionate cup of cool water to the parched souls of those who have too often been passed by on the other side. I have been supported for over 20 years by a group of ongoing and increasing number of fellow servants in the Lord.
